FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT
SOUND HEALING
Here are some common questions we receive from our valued clients, along with thorough answers to help you better understand about Sound Healing

Who should get Sound Healing?
Anyone and everyone should get sound healing. This modality is great for children and adults alike. Each Sound Bath experience is tailored for the participants receiving, so everyone gets maximum healing benefits and the desired nervous system reset.
Why Sound Healing?
Sound isn’t “woo-woo;” it’s physics. It’s biology. It’s your body remembering what its natural state feels like. Vibration travels through the body faster than thought, influencing the nervous system, brainwaves, and cellular communication. In many traditions sound was the first medicine. Alchemy. Long before words, there was vibration, long before touch, there was tone. Sound was the first healer.
How does Sound
Healing work?
Brainwaves entrain to sound. Sound can guide the brain from busy beta waves into calmer alpha and theta states where healing processes are supported. Yes, this is neuroscience! Sound creates predictability and rhythm. Sound bypasses overthinking. You don’t have to “believe” in sound healing. Your cells respond regardless. Physics > opinions. Sound is vibration, not background noise. Vibration travels through the body at a cellular level. Your nervous system responds before your mind does. Western medicine once dismissed sound as placebo. Neuroscience now shows specific frequencies slow brain waves and regulate the nervous system. Your body responds to vibration before it responds to logic.
Why do you use crystal singing bowls and other instruments?
Every system in your body communicates through rhythm and frequency. When sound enters the body, it interacts first with the nervous system. This is why sound can calm anxiety, slow the breath, and create a feeling of safety. Safety is the doorway to healing. Once the nervous system begins to regulate, the body can release tension. Your muscles soften. Breath deepens. The mind becomes quieter. This is when real change begins. Crystal bowls work especially well because they produce pure, sustained frequencies. These tones give the body time to respond instead of staying alert or braced. Longer resonance = deeper relaxation. It works because sound is vibration, and the human body is designed to respond to vibration.
What is happening during a
sound bath?
Wonder why sound healing works? Here’s what’s actually happening inside your brain, body, and nervous system. Brain: Your brain is always operating in a frequency- from fast, busy beta waves (stress, overthinking, alertness) into the slower theta and delta states (deep calm, meditation, rest). Sound healing gently pulls you out of the stressed “thinking” state and into the slower waves where your nervous system can finally soften. This is why your mind goes quiet, your breath deepens, and you feel calm enough to respond to the world rather than react to it. Nervous system: instruments like bowls, chimes, and gongs stimulate your vagus nerve, which is the switch that turns off fight-or-flight. The moment that happens your body shifts into its parasympathetic state: rest, digest, repair, heal. It’s not woo-woo, it’s biology and physiology. Cells: your cells are not just listening. Sound travels as vibration, and your tissues, fascia, and fluid-filled spaces respond to those waves. This is called entrainment. Your body naturally synchronizes with the repetitive, calming frequencies, down to the most macro level of your body, helping you return to cellular balance faster and deeper than talk therapy and mental practices.
Is this just
woo-woo?
Western medicine once dismissed sound as placebo. Neuroscience now shows specific frequencies slow brain waves and regulate the nervous system. Your body responds to vibration before it responds to logic.
What do I wear
for a session?
Participants in the healing session should dress comfortably. Clothing should be loose, comfortable,
and maintain modesty. Participants are also encouraged to bring any props (mats, blanket, pillow, bolster etc) that will make their space a comfortable "nest" that will aid in the experience.
What do I do during a sound bath?
Once participants get their "nest" set up with mats, blankets, bolsters, etc, all you have to do is lay comfortably. Anyone who would prefer to sit rather than lay down may do that as well.
Do I have to lay down during a sound bath?
Typically participants lay down during a sound bath, but you don't HAVE to do that. Any position that makes you comfortable is fine. The idea is that your body is in a position that allows your nervous system the opportunity for reset. We can help you find the ideal position for maximum comfort and relaxation.
